Our eyes bleed with the excess of synthetic and digital colour stimulation. Visual advertising bombards us with the deception of colour. Colour manipulates our emotions and desires. Colour is dangerous.
Exhibited at Chelmsford Museum 2019, solo show - The Clinker Connection - When Humans Changed Nature.
Clinker is the evidence left behind from the processes of industrial production and it is these gnarly nuggets of history that hold stories of progress and change.
With the idea of material, process and colour as metaphor, the work translates industrial ancestry, mass production and consumption.
The exhibition explored ideas of progress through metamorphosis of time and matter and aimed to question its effect on our delicate environment.
