Bleachers

2019
H35 W variable D variable cm (10 vessels)
Porcelain, clinker, gold leaf, plastic bottles.
£2,000

Reminiscent of dying coral reefs in warming oceans, caused by human induced activity, Bleachers explores a paradox of progression.
The hierarchy of materials from industrial waste to glistening gold set in the finest porcelain creates a narrative of mass production.  The work almost resembles the beauty of nature until you notice the smothering of plastic.
