Kintsugi

This series of work explores fragility and resilience through a process of destruction and repair- a paradox of the Human Condition. It is inspired by the philosophy of Kintsugi, an ancient Japanese art which repairs broken ceramics with lacquer and gold to make the object better than it was before - enriched by its experience.
