Custodians of clinker walls, Main Road, Broomfield, Chelmsford.
Built at the turn of the 20th century from over baked wonky reject bricks and topped with clinker. From an Arts and Craft era, that rejected the ideas of mass production instead opting for traditional craftsmanship using simple forms and materials.
The wall not only marks a boundary but also plays a significant roll in protecting our social identity.
